Setback for Longevity Drug
Clinical trials of the most-ballyhooed drug promising radical life extension have been halted due to safety concerns. Called the "red wine drug" because it is a reformulation of resveratrol, found in low doses in that beverage, it is the flag-ship product of Sirtris Pharmaceuticals (see mention below) which was recently sold with great fanfare to GlaxoSmithKlein for almost three-quarters of a billion dollars.
